I can fix you up!

Now that my last relationship has crashed and burned, I've noticed that EVERYONE I know has someone GREAT they want to fix me up with....which in my experience doesn't ever truly work..and ends up being awkward and uncomfortable.

So...I need your advice. What creative ways do you have to dodge the impending "set up??"

Just like the oranges, you can put a "grown in Florida" stamp on me, although the trees that I came from were grown in the Mid-West! I'm the only child to two of the most head-strong people you'll ever meet in your life....so just imagine what I'm like. MollyWood was discovered in Dothan, Alabama during a road trip with my Mom in the Summer of 2000 and its stuck ever since.

I am a ~~29, 30~~ 30-something year old, single girl, living in Jacksonville, Florida. I figure, by not letting any cats in my house, I’m putting of spinsterhood for at least two more years. I’m a Leo, and NO, I don’t believe in Horoscopes, but I do think they’re fun to read! Plus, if you ever read a description of a Leo, its so me, its frightening!

Just in case you aren’t familiar with MollyWood’s official language, sass has some synonyms: audacious, bold, brash, brazen, cheecky, forward, fresh, irreverent, jaunty, pert, sarcastic, saucy, smart, snippy and wise (thank you Al Gore for inventing the internet!).

I am a true child of the 80’s. Both of my parents worked, so I started with pre-school. I have a long-standing love of television - good, bad and in-between. Our house was a fun place to grow up. Mom is a teacher, so her schedule and mine were very similar. And she started teaching kindergarten when I was in kindergarten, so she was a lot of fun too. Dad is a lot more straight laced, but he can loosen up and be silly, just like Mom and I. So our house was loud, muscial and fun….you’re jealous aren’t you?

In 1996, I left Pete and Nancy (Mom and Dad) to attend The Florida State University in Tallahassee. I am a ravenous college football fan, GO NOLES! Seriously, I had lunch with Bobby Bowden in August. When I graduated in 2000, I channeled my fear of growing up and becoming an adult into an application to grad school. I got accepted to Auburn University, in Auburn, Alabama. Moving to Alabama was a complete shock to my Florida-grown system. My standard explanation when people asked if I liked it was “They do things a little different in Alabama.” Which, by the way, is absolutely true. When Reese Witherspoon said “People need a passport to come down here,” she wasn’t kidding.

This blog has changed a lot since it started. I decided that enough of my friends and family enjoy my sassy comments, so I thought I would share my opinions with the rest of the world. So feel free to comment and let me know what you think. Try to make me laugh please!
